Years Later, Massachusetts School May Alert Parents To Sexual Abuse.

A small Catholic school in Lancaster, MA has not notified any parents or alumni that a frequent guest speaker, Rev. Donald J. McGuire, allegedly sexually assaulted several students during the 1990s and 2000s.  The school also failed to investigate whether McGuire molested any students aside from the five that came forward to report the sexual assaults.  The school claims that one reason they did not notify parents of the alleged abuse was because McGuire was not a paid member of the faculty. 

McGuire was once a well-known Jesuit with ties to Mother Teresa.  McGuire often spoke at the Lancaster school’s events and graduations.  In 2009, McGuire was sentenced to 25 years in prison for molesting an eighth grade student.  Recently, the school’s founders agreed to bring the matter of notifying parents and alumni in front of the school’s board.
