Missouri High School Sued For Negligence After Allowing Stranger To Pose As A Parent.

As a parent, the safety of your child is always at the forefront of potential concerns. These concerns can grow even larger when parents are forced to leave the well-being of their children in the hands of another. Schools, for example, take on enormous amounts of responsibility when they are entrusted with the well-being of hundreds of kids each and every day. Consequently, schools must be very careful and conscientious about how they monitor the safety of their students. Unfortunately, sometimes schools fail to stay diligent, and students can be endangered as a result. In such a situation, it may be wise to contact an expert personal injury attorney at 617-787-3700.

Jefferson High School, in Jefferson City, Missouri, is currently the target of a lawsuit alleging that it was negligent in allowing a man to pose as a parent in order to remove a student from class. According to the report, the man then sexually assaulted the student, who has elected to remain anonymous. The suit alleges that one of the teachers at Jefferson High School failed to ask the man for proper identification, and did not follow a number of other procedures designed to protect the safety of Jefferson High students. Both district policies and the high school handbook outline various steps that need to be taken before a parent can remove a child from class, and few to none of these steps were taken.

The school, which is being represented by Ryan Bertels and Chris Rackers of Jefferson City’s Schreimann, Rackers & Franca LLC, plans to put forward affirmative defenses of immunity as well as claiming the student failed to mitigate damages. The Jefferson High student is being represented by Daniel J. Rhoads of the Rhoads Firm LLC of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Burn Injury Suffered From Over-Heated Food Results In Lawsuit Against Restaurant.

In addition to providing food and drinks, restaurants offer their customers a comfortable place to relax and spend time with friends and family. They are a classic social venue in our society, and patrons expect an environment conducive to that end. Accordingly, chefs, waiters, and management must work together to ensure that customers have as enjoyable an experience as possible. Sometimes, however, restaurants can be negligent in monitoring their service or their food, and injury can result. In such a situation, it may be wise to contact an expert personal injury attorney at 617-787-3700.

According to a recently filed lawsuit, Missouri based restaurant Lamberts Café, in Ozark, Missouri,  was negligent in serving rolls to a mentally disabled veteran that were extremely hot. The customer apparently clenched one of the rolls in his hand, and immediately had to be taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with second degree burns. Lamberts has declined to comment.

The burn victim, Nathanael Smith, is a 22-year old veteran who was discharged from the army after a training accident left him mentally disabled. According to reports, Mr. Smith was handed a plate that was far too hot, and then in response clutched the roll, which led to his burns. Smith and his family are originally from Florida, and plan to aggressively pursue this claim against the restaurant.

If you or a loved one has received severe burns as the result of the negligence of another, you may be entitled to significant monetary relief. Kansas City Bar And Grill Settles With Local Sisters After Alleged Battery By Bouncers.

Bars hire bouncers for a variety of reasons. They include: to make sure underage drinkers don’t come in; to help out other staff members with various tasks; and to generally make sure the bar is a safe environment. Despite their reputation as sometimes being overly aggressive and confrontational, intoxicated patrons are not exactly the easiest people in the world to deal with. That being said, part of keeping a bar as a safe environment is staying under control while dealing with people who may be breaking the rules. Getting a reputation as an unnecessarily aggressive bouncer might be bad for business. Actually being an unnecessarily aggressive bouncer could lead to customers getting hurt. In such a situation, it may be wise to contact an expert personal injury attorney at 617-787-3700.

Bouncers from Kansas City, Missouri, at the Whiskey Tango Bar are experiencing heat right now after allegedly handcuffing two sisters to a wall after mistakenly thinking that the women used a counterfeit $50 bill. The suit alleges that the women were confronted by multiple bouncers wearing masks and camouflage, despite arriving at the bar over 90 minutes after the bill was used. The women were then apparently handcuffed to a wall in the bar after denying any responsibility.

Nick Hinrichs of the Hinrichs Lawfirm in Kansas City, Missouri, was able to secure a $1 million settlement for the two women. Mr. Hinrichs called the ordeal a “nightmare” for the sisters.
