Motorcycle Accident Turns Fatal For 20 Year-Old From Louisburg, Kansas.

Generally, motorcycles have only a limited ability to protect you during an accident. Your only and main protection during an accident while riding a motorcycle is your helmet. The freedom and risk associated with riding a motorcycle is, in and of itself, half the thrill of riding. However, if you are involved in an accident while riding a motorcycle, your injuries may be greater than in an auto accident. The expert motorcycle accident attorneys at our Boston, Massachusetts law firm have decades of experience recovering damages for our Massachusetts clients and can help you with the complicated litigation process.

Tanker Crashes Off Overpass In Downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, each year an estimated 475,000 large trucks are involved in accidents, with over 5,000 fatalities and more than 140,000 injuries. While the statistics fluctuate each year, the number of fatal accidents involving large trucks continues to increase. However, in about 70% of the accidents involving large trucks, automobile drivers were to blame. While distracted driving and excessive speeds are some of the major factors in these accidents, human errors and poor judgment are also contributing factors.

There was an intense moment for drivers recently after a tanker truck crashed off of an overpass in downtown St. Louis. The accident happened during the early hours of the morning.  The driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Vernon McKellips, 62 years-old, works for N.B. Construction in Sullivan, Missouri. He was driving the empty 50-foot tanker into St. Louis to fill it with asphalt when the vehicle allegedly began to fishtail. Mr. McKellips says he steered the tanker to correct its path and crashed through concrete on the right side of the elevated lane near Washington Avenue. The barrier was damaged. However, a witness says Mr. McKellips was trying to avoid hitting another vehicle.

A young boy was flown to a hospital after crashing his dirt bike.
