{"id":687,"date":"2012-09-25T18:46:29","date_gmt":"2012-09-25T18:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boston-personalinjury-lawyer.com\/blog\/?p=687"},"modified":"2012-09-27T15:45:02","modified_gmt":"2012-09-27T15:45:02","slug":"town-councilor-from-maine-pleads-guilty-to-drunk-driving-after-motor-vehicle-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boston-personalinjury-lawyer.com\/blog\/town-councilor-from-maine-pleads-guilty-to-drunk-driving-after-motor-vehicle-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Town Councilor From Maine Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving After Motor Vehicle Crash."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Suzanne Phillips, a 36 year-old town councilor from Gorham, Maine, pleaded guilty to drunk driving in exchange for having her charges of leaving the scene of an accident dropped.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WEczQaYdmUk\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The charges stemmed from a May 4, 2012 incident in which Phillips hit two parked cars at around 1 AM and then drove off.\u00a0 <strong>Police were directed by a witness to Phillips\u2019s location, and found that her blood alcohol content was .11, and thus above the legal limit of .08.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Phillips claims she struck the vehicles after swerving to avoid a drunk pedestrian, and only left the scene to get her insurance card and other materials necessary to make a report of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>No one was hurt in the motor vehicle collision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phillips has agreed to pay a $600 fine and have her driver&#8217;s license suspended for 90 days.
