Dogs are commonly referred to as \u201cman’s best friend\u201d, as they are often a loved <\/span><\/span><\/span>and important<\/span><\/span><\/span> part of any family. Dogs are still fundamentally animals, and as animals, they still have primal instincts and animal responses, including occasionally violent ones.<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Many states, such as Massachusetts, hold a dog’s owner strictly liable<\/a> if they bite someone. This means if the victim sues the owner, all they have to prove <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>in order to prevail in their case<\/span><\/span><\/span> is that <\/span><\/span><\/span>the defendant does,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> in fact, own the dog and that they were bit.<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/span>S<\/span><\/span><\/span>o long as they did not provoke or antagonize the dog, <\/span><\/span><\/span>they <\/span><\/span><\/span>will be awarded monetary damages for their pain and suffering and medical bills. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
