The Stryker Modular Hip System (MHS) was a part of <strong>a massive product recall <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">in <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>2012<\/strong>. The Stryker MHS was frequently used in procedures to replace a fractured or defective hip with a new, artificial one. Due to the Stryker MHS&#8217;s design, metal-on-metal friction <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">c<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">ould cause the unit to decay over time, and produce metal fragments within the patient.
