Dole Food Co. Recalls 756 Cases Of Bagged Lettuce.

The fresh vegetables division of Dole Food Co. is set to recall 756 cases of bagged lettuce. According to health officials, the bags could have been contaminated with salmonella. The salad bags are reported to have been distributed in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. The bags were recalled after a random sample tested by New York State came back with positive results for salmonella. Dole officials say that there have not been any known illnesses that have been reported thus far.

The bags, named “Seven Lettuces,” are stamped with a use-by date of April 11, 2012, have UPC code 71430 01057, and product codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B.
