Complaining About Priest Led To Her Firing, Nun Testifies.

Boston Personal Injury LawyerA nun, Sister Joan Scary, testified recently that she was fired from a parish in Pennsylvania for reporting that a priest had been receiving mail containing illicit materials.  The priest in question, Rev. Edward Depaoli, was removed from the ministry in 2005.

Prosecutors are using Scary’s testimony to build a case against another Pennsylvania clergyman, Monsignor William Lynn. Lynn has been charged with endangering children, and is on trial with Rev. James Brennan who has been charged with attempted rape of a 14 year-old boy.  Scary says she was told by the pastor in her church to keep her concerns to herself.
